Josette Wiggan
JOSETTE WIGGAN (Dancer) started dancing at the age of 12 at Paul and Arlene Kennedy’s Universal Dance Designs in Los Angeles. Under their tutelage as a member of the Kennedy Tap Co., she discovered her passion for stage and theater. Josette has been a member of Jazz Tap Ensemble under the direction of Lynn Dally since 2004. She is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles, with a BA in World Arts and Cultures. Career highlights include winner of the 2001 Spotlight awards in non-classical dance category, the 1st National Tour of 42nd Street, the 2003 Rockette Christmas Spectacular, the movie Idlewild 2005, and studying with Germaine Acogny in Toubab Dielaw, Senegal at the Ecole des Sables studio in 2006. Most recently, Josette was a soloist at the Women In Tap concert hosted at UCLA. Los Angeles Times dance critic, Lewis Segal says of Josette, “All hail… to Josette Wiggan for her take-no-prisoners attacks even at maximum complexity….” Josette, is a 2008 Lester Horton Award nominee for “Outstanding Achievement in Performance.” She teaches at several studios in Los Angeles and is becoming a frequent guest teacher and dancer in tap festivals around the world.
