Aaron Williams

Aaron Williams is a performer, teacher, and composer originally from Kansas City, MO. He has served as percussionist, keyboardist, vocalist, drummer, and tap dancer. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Missouri Western Sate University and pursued a Master of Music degree at California State University, Long Beach. Aaron has served as principal percussionist with the Saint Joseph Symphony and the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and he has served as musical director and featured percussionist for LA Ironworks. Kansas City audiences remember Aaron as the featured mallet percussionist with Sticks of Thunder, a high-energy percussion show that performed to sold-out audiences for 18 months. Aaron has composed works for various solo configurations and for ensembles both small and large, including several commissions for original works from various high school and college drumlines. Aaron has taught private lessons and classes of all sizes in piano, percussion, voice, and tap, and he has instructed high school and college drumlines across the country. He has also worked with such arts-outreach programs as Artsbridge, Midland Empire Community Arts, and the Allied Arts Council. Aaron is currently Band Director at Vanguard Middle School in Los Angeles, holds the position of percussion/theory professor at the Compton Conservatoire, and continues to teach and perform in the Los Angeles area.
